In the morning, His Honour the Honourable David Connolly, Administrator of the Northern Territory, made a telephone call to Her Worship the Mayor of Katherine, Ms Joanna Holden, to receive an update on the significant wet weather event and rising river levels impacting the Katherine region.

Subsequently, His Honour, accompanied by Ms Sue Brosnan OLY, attended and presented an award at the 2026 CAA Women in Ambulance Honours, recognising outstanding women whose leadership, clinical excellence and commitment to culture are shaping the future of ambulance care across the Northern Territory, at St John Ambulance Australia NT Casuarina offices.

In the afternoon, the Administrator, received Ms Max Taylor, Chief Executive Officer of Ruby Gaea Darwin Centre Against Sexual Violence for a courtesy call, at Government House.

In the evening, Government House was illuminated in purple in support of International Women’s Day, which occurs on 8 March annually. Government House was illuminated from Friday 6, March to Sunday, 8 March 2026.
