In the morning, His Honour Professor the Honourable Hugh Heggie AO PSM, Administrator of the Northern Territory, as Patron, accompanied by Ms Ruth Jones, officially started the Australia Day OZ Run 2026 and handed out medallions to participants, at Darwin Convention Centre. Afterwards His Honour and Ms Jones attended a Smoking Ceremony.

Subsequently, His Honour and Ms Jones, attended the City of Darwin 2026 Australia Day Citizenship Awards Ceremony and Community Celebration, at Darwin Cenotaph.

In the evening, the Administrator and Ms Jones, attended the OzFusion 2026 to celebrate Australia Day and the diversity of Australian people, at Territory Netball Stadium, in Marrara.
