In the morning, His Honour Professor the Honourable Hugh Heggie AO PSM, Administrator of the Northern Territory and Ms Ruth Jones, participated in the Tennant Creek Walking and Running Club, 5km walk at Lake Mary Ann.
Next, His Honour and Ms Jones, attended a tour and briefing of the Tennant Creek Hospital followed by morning tea.
Subsequently, the Administrator and Ms Jones, attended a tour and briefing of the Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation.
In the afternoon, the Vice Regal couple, attended a meeting and luncheon with Mayor Sid Vashist and Councillors of the Barkly Regional Council, at Barkly Regional Council.
Afterwards, His Honour and Ms Jones, attended a tour and briefing of Barkly Regional Arts and Radio Station 8CCC.
Then, the Administrator and Ms Jones, attended a briefing of key infrastructure projects in Tennant Creek, hosted by Ms Sally O’Callaghan, Regional Manager Department of Logistics and Infrastructure, at Barkly Business Hub.
Later, His Honour, as Patron, and Ms Jones, met with members of the National Trust of the Northern Territory Tennant Creek Branch, at Tuxworth Fullwood House.
In the evening, the Administrator, as Patron, and Ms Jones, attended the Rossy Williams Shield Opening Ceremony. The Rossy Williams Shield is the final remote cricket carnival before the Imparja Cup. His Honour performed the official ‘bat flip’ and viewed the first match, at Purkiss Reserve Football Oval.
