In the morning, His Honour Professor the Honourable Hugh Heggie AO PSM, Administrator of the Northern Territory and Ms Ruth Jones, received The Venerable Dr Peter Rouch, Secretary General of Mission to Seafarers, accompanied by Ms Sue Dight, Regional Director Australasia and Papua New Guinea, The Right Reverend Dr Greg Anderson, Bishop of the Northern Territory and Reverend Ian McDonald, Executive Member for a courtesy call.

In the evening, His Honour, as Patron of the Australia Day Council NT, accompanied by Ms Jones, attended the 2026 Australian of the Year Awards for the Northern Territory. His Honour presented the Local Hero for the Northern Territory award to Emergency services and St John Ambulance volunteer Mr Ron Green BM ESM and the Northern Territory Young Australian of the Year award to Mr Jaiden Dickenson, at Mindil Beach Casino Resort.
