In the morning, His Honour Professor the Honourable Hugh Heggie AO PSM, Administrator of the Northern Territory and Ms Ruth Jones, hosted an Australian Honours and Awards Investiture Ceremony for Ms Wendy Baarda OAM, at DoubleTree by Hilton, in Alice Springs.

In the afternoon, His Honour and Ms Jones, attended a tour and briefing of the Arid Zone Research Institute, and learned about the bee mite program hosted by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries Southern Region, at Arid Zone Research Institute.

In the evening, the Administrator and Ms Jones, hosted a reception to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Australian Honours and Awards system, at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Alice Springs.

Subsequently, the Vice Regal couple, hosted a dinner for Ms Fran Kilgariff AM, Deputy of the Administrator of the Northern Territory, Mr Reg Hatch, the Honourable Ted Egan AO, former Administrator of the Northern Territory and Ms Nerys Evans, at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Alice Springs.
