His Honour Professor the Honourable Hugh Heggie AO PSM, Administrator of the Northern Territory, as Patron, accompanied by Ms Ruth Jones, officially opened the 61st Sailing Season and Blessing of the Fleet, at Darwin Sailing Club.

In the evening, His Honour and Ms Jones, laid a wreath to commemorate the 82nd Anniversary of the Battle of the Coral Sea, at USS Peary Memorial on the Esplanade.

Subsequently, the Administrator, accompanied by Ms Jones, attended the Northern Territory Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards Gala Dinner, where His Honour presented the Administrator’s Medal for Lifetime Achievement in Nursing and/or Midwifery for 2024, at Mindil Beach Casino Resort.
