In the morning, His Honour Professor the Honourable Hugh Heggie PSM, Administrator of the Northern Territory and Ms Ruth Jones received Mr Jon Wardill, Commodore and Mrs Michelle Batenburg, Vice Commodore, of the Darwin Sailing Club.

Later at Government House, the committee of the Royal Life Saving Northern Territory convened to select the recipient for the Administrator’s Medal in the category of Outstanding Service in Lifesaving.
