In the morning, His Honour Professor the Honourable Hugh Heggie PSM, Administrator of the Northern Territory and Ms Ruth Jones attended and met with His Worship the Mayor of Alice Springs Mr Matt Paterson at the Alice Springs Town Council.

Subsequently, the Administrator and Ms Jones, visited Red Kangaroo Books to congratulate Ms Bronwyn Druce, recipient of the 2023 Text Publishing Bookseller of the Year Award.

In the evening, His Honour conducted an Investiture Ceremony for the Alice Springs 2023 Australia Day Honours and Awards recipients and hosted a community reception, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel.
