Territorian wins bronze at Commonwealth Games

The Administrator and Ms Sue Brosnan OLY were delighted to welcome one of Australia’s rising para-athletics stars and proud Territorian, Miss Briseis Brittain, to Government House.

The 18-year-old recently returned from the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow with a bronze medal win in the Women’s T38 200 m.

Growing up in Ramingining before developing her talent in Darwin, Briseis has steadily risen through the ranks of Australian para-athletics under the guidance of her NT Athletics coach, Roger Chin.

With little doubt that this is only the beginning and while still early in her international career, Briseis can already count a World Championships appearance, Commonwealth Games selection and now a Commonwealth Games medal among her achievements.
