Hoops 4 Health NAIDOC Activation

His Honour attended the Hoops 4 Health NAIDOC Week activation on the Darwin Esplanade, where basketball, boxing and a range of activities brought Territorians together in the spirit of connection, health and community.

His Honour always enjoys seeing Territorians having a crack and making a genuine difference, and that's exactly what Founder and Director of Hoops 4 Health Timmy Duggan OAM and his team are doing right across the Northern Territory.

As a First Nations-led organisation, Hoops 4 Health is about much more than basketball. Through culturally grounded, trauma-informed programs, the team is helping young people and communities build resilience, confidence, and healthy lifestyles. From wellbeing and leadership programs to their financial literacy program, Hoops 4 Wealth and Gloves of Hope boxing, they are creating opportunities for Aboriginal people of all ages to thrive.

Congratulations to Timmy and the entire Hoops 4 Health team on the extraordinary work you continue to do, empowering healthier, stronger and more resilient communities across the Northern Territory.

His Honour also wishes Timmy every success as a finalist for the 2026 National NAIDOC Person of the Year Award at next month's National NAIDOC Awards.
