His Honour meets with the U.S. Chargée d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Canberra
His Honour and Ms Sue Brosnan OLY were welcomed to the United States Embassy in Canberra for a courtesy call with U.S. Chargée d’Affaires Erika Olson, who leads the United States diplomatic mission in Australia and oversees the Embassy in Canberra and Consulates in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
The longstanding relationship between the United States and the Northern Territory continues to be one of great importance. The annual rotation of United States Marines through Darwin remains one of the strongest and most visible symbols of the enduring Australia–United States Alliance, reflecting our shared commitment to regional security, cooperation and stability.
The meeting provided an opportunity to reaffirm the strong ties between our countries, strengthen mutual understanding and discuss the opportunities that lie ahead. As the Northern Territory continues to play an increasingly important role in Australia's strategic future, His Honour looks forward to seeing the partnership between the United States and the Territory continue to grow for the benefit of both countries.
