Carbine Club of the Northern Territory supports young Territory athletes

As Patron of the Carbine Club, His Honour was privileged to attend their annual fundraising luncheon and hear from one of the Territory's most exciting young sporting talents, 14-year-old Fynn Goat.

For more than 30 years, the Carbine Club NT has championed Territory sport, providing $1 million in sponsorships and support to junior athletes and community organisations across more than 25 different sports. Through its fundraising efforts, Carbine continues to help Territorians pursue sporting excellence and achieve their goals.

Guests were inspired by Fynn's incredible journey, from learning to kiteboard at Rapid Creek as a 7-year-old, to becoming the first Territorian selected in the Australian Sailing National Youth Squad. Despite having no local coaches or competitions in the Northern Territory, Fynn has mastered 5 disciplines and travelled extensively to train and compete, with the unwavering support of his family. With the Australian Institute of Sport and the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games now firmly on the horizon, it was a privilege to see the Carbine Club supporting Fynn's continued development.

His Honour congratulates the Carbine Club NT for its longstanding commitment to nurturing Territory sporting talent and wishes Fynn every success as he continues his extraordinary journey, knowing the Northern Territory is proudly behind him every step of the way.
