65 Roses Day during Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month
As Patron of Cystic Fibrosis Northern Territory, His Honour is proud to recognise 65 Roses Day during Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month.
Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is the most common life-limiting genetic condition affecting Australians, with 17 Territorians currently living with the disease. For many families, accessing specialist care can mean travelling thousands of kilometres for treatment and support, placing significant emotional, physical and financial pressures on patients and their loved ones.
The Administrator acknowledges the important work of Cystic Fibrosis Queensland, which continues to provide support, advocacy and connection for Territory families, ensuring no one faces cystic fibrosis alone.
There is also reason for hope. Advances in treatment and healthcare have seen life expectancy increase dramatically, from just 18 years of age to around 76 years today, allowing more Territorians living with CF to remain close to their families, communities, and support networks.
