Community reception to farewell the Big Rivers Region, ahead of the conclusion of His Honour’s term in office in January 2026

His Honour and Ms Jones hosted a community reception at the Top Didj Aboriginal Art Gallery as part of their official farewell engagements, bringing together Territorians from the Big Rivers region.

Reflecting on his time as Administrator, His Honour shared: 'I will miss the conversations, the laughter, and the quiet moments of reflection at community gatherings. Ruth and I have felt welcomed in every corner of the Territory, and those memories will stay with us forever. This is not goodbye, for we know we will see you again. Our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to you all.'

During the reception, the Administrator was honoured to present a Seniors of Excellence Award to Ms Elizabeth (Bess) Hart, in recognition of her many years of voluntary service and dedication to the community.
