His Honour and Ms Jones were delighted to receive the Chung Wah Society Dragon and Lion Dance Troupe for a traditional blessing of Government House to mark Chinese New Year. The Year of the Snake in the Chinese zodiac symbolises wisdom, intuition, and beauty. It signifies a time of transformation and introspection, marked by personal growth and thoughtful decision-making. This year is believed to bring good fortune and the shedding of old habits, much like a snake shedding its skin, paving the way for new beginnings and positive changes.
