Virtual Judging of the 48th edition of the Katherine Prize hosted by Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre
The Administrator participated in the Judging Panel for the 48th edition of the “Katherine Prize” hosted by Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre. The prize is the longest running visual arts award in the Northern Territory.
The panel consisting of His Honour, Ms Kate Land, Assistant Curator at the Northern Centre for Contemporary Art in Darwin, and Mr Danny Murphy, a celebrated Territory ceramicist and the winner of last year's Katherine Prize, reviewed the amazing entries and selected the winners of the “Julie and Geoffrey Newton Major Award” and the “Katherine Town Council Award".
The winners were announced at the 48th Katherine Prize Opening Reception and Awards Night on Friday evening.
Congratulations to all participating artists, event organisers and of course the winners involved in this wonderful event for the Northern Territory Arts community.
The Exhibition is open until 22 December at the Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts and Culture Centre, Katherine.
