Attended an audience with His Majesty The King

His Honour the Administrator, accompanied by Ms Ruth Jones, was received by His Majesty King Charles III, at Buckingham Palace for an introductory audience as the King’s representative in the Northern Territory. His Honour introduced himself in English, Arrernte and Kunwinjku.

During the audience, the Administrator presented the King with a gift of hand printed silk fabric by Artist Eva Nganjmirra of Injalak Arts, the fabric featured the Mandem (waterlilly) design.

The King spoke fondly of the beauty of the Northern Territory’s natural environment, his visits and affection for Territorians. His Honour extended a standing invitation to His Majesty to return to the Northern Territory when next in our region.

Ms Jones wore a silk fabric personally purchased from Gunbalanya, the outfit was made and designed in Darwin by Yam Li Jong. The Administrator wore a tie with a Warlpiri design.
