Congratulatory message

If you’re a resident of the Northern Territory (NT), you can receive a congratulatory message from the Administrator, for your:

  • 100th birthday
  • 50th, 60th, 65th or 70th wedding anniversary.

You can also request a message from His Majesty The King, the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, and the Prime Minister of Australia if you meet their eligibility.

At least 5 weeks’ notice must be given. If it’s a belated occasion, your request must be no later than 4 weeks after the date.

Before you request

When you make a request, you must attach a statutory declaration, with the relevant names and birthday or anniversary details.

To get a statutory declaration, go to the NT Government website.

Once your request has been processed, your message will be sent 5 days before the occasion.

Privacy and data collection statement

Government House Northern Territory (NT) respects and is committed to safeguarding the confidentiality and privacy of the information that it collects and handles, in accordance with the NT Information Act 2002.

You have been asked to provide personal information necessary for us to send eligible recipients a congratulatory message. You do not have to provide your personal information but if you choose not to, we will not able to complete your request.

The information you provide will be accessible to Government House NT and will only be used to provide the necessary service. We will not disclose your personal information to third parties unless:

  • authorised or required by law to do so
  • you have given us your consent to share your personal information for sending congratulatory messages from other dignitaries such as the Chief Minister of the NT, His Majesty The King, the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia or the Prime Minister of Australia.
